PA Man Arrested For Grasonville VFW Burglary

3rd February 2009 | Posted in News

A Pennsylvania man has been arrested in connection with the January 15 break-in at the Grasonville VFW where more than $20,000 was taken. Detective Shane Russell of Queen Anne’s Sheriff’s Office obtained a felony warrant on charges of burglary and theft for Raymond J. Flick, 37, of Howard, Pa. after a witness gave police the tag number of a suspicious vehicle seen in the vicinity of the crime. That information led Russell to investigators of similar crimes from Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

Flick was arrested by Bellefonte Police Department in Centre County, Pa. at the home of a female acquaintance. His 1997 Ford Explorer was seized and impounded. He waived extradition, and detectives from the local sheriff’s brought returned Flick Centreville where bail was set at $10,000. Flick made bail and was released the following day.

Flick currently is charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and theft over $500. During the burglary, five video slot machines were damaged beyond repair and a safe was burned open with a torch. Damages to the slot machines and other post property may exceed $30,000, according to VFW officials.
