The Shore Health System Surgery Center is now open in Easton. The center is currently being used by ophthalmologists on the Shore Health System medical staff for cataract surgery and other surgical procedures. Some urological surgery is also done at the Surgery Center.
The Surgery Center is staffed by members of the Shore Health System nursing staff who are experienced in techniques used in a hospital operating room setting. “The staff assigned to this outpatient surgical center have the same clinical competencies of our hospital-based surgical staff,” explains Penny Aaron Pink, MSN, RN, director of surgical and ambulatory services for Shore Health System. Tidewater Anesthesia Associates provide anesthesia services at the Surgery Center.
“This is a new opportunity for our patients to be cared for in an outpatient setting,” says Pink. “We are pleased to be able to add this efficient and convenient setting to the menu of surgical services available at the Memorial Hospital at Easton and Dorchester General Hospital.”
