If you’re really not into baking and looking for a no bake dessert then this recipe is for you. To make Orange Cream Oranges all it takes is preparation and assembly. Everyone will thank you for such a creative and refreshing treat at the end of a hot day.
Orange Cream Oranges
4 medium oranges
1 pint orange sherbert
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 can of mandarin oranges, drained and chopped (optional)
Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Level off the oranges by cutting a small piece off the bottom so it sits flat. Slice off the top of the oranges and scoop out all of the orange flesh with a spoon. Place the orange cups and the lids on a plate or baking sheet and freeze for at least two hours.
When you are ready to serve remove the oranges, orange sherbert and vanilla ice cream from the freezer. Layer a scoop of orange sherbert, then a scoop of vanilla ice cream and top it off with another scoop of orange sherbert. Before adding the last scoop be sure to pack down the ice cream inside of the orange. Top with a sprig of fresh mint and the orange lid and serve.
**I like to add chopped mandarin orange segments in between each scoop of sherbert and ice cream.
