Hospice of Queen Anne’s Announces Volunteer Training

17th August 2012 | Posted in News

Hospice of Queen Anne’s is offering a 16-hour, volunteer training program for individuals who are interested in working directly with hospice patients. It is scheduled for Sept. 11, 18, 25 and Oct. 2, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hospice Center in Centreville.

Individuals who would like to provide care and support to patients in the Hospice Center, private homes or assisted living facilities need to complete this 5-session training program. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 3 to be eligible for the training.

When you become a volunteer for Hospice of Queen Anne’s, there is a place for you. Whether you choose to work directly with patients and families, serve on an event committee, make a presentation, organize mailings for bereaved families, or prepare patient meals in the Hospice Residence, you can make a difference in someone’s life, including your own.

To register for volunteer training, or explore other volunteer opportunities with Hospice of Queen Anne’s, go to www.hospiceofqueenannes.org and select “Volunteer Training.” You may download a volunteer application or contact Volunteer Director Courtney Williams at 443-262-4112, e-mail cwilliams@hospiceofqueenannes.org.
