On Saturday, October 13 from 1-4pm at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) in St. Michaels, MD, Girl Scout Cadettes are invited to join CBMM’s Journeyman Shipwright Jennifer Kuhn for an afternoon of working with wood.
Held in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay, the program helps Cadettes meet some of the requirements for a woodworking badge. Participation is limited, with pre-registration required.
This special woodworking program also offers participants the opportunity to learn about skipjacks and bugeyes while participating in woodworking activities and tool demonstrations. Cadettes will learn to use a hammer, level, screwdriver, and more while creating their own wooden boat to take home. Participants will also receive a fun Girl Scout patch.
The cost is $12 per participant with pre-registration required through the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay by calling 302-456-7182. For more information about CBMM, call 410-745-2916 or visit www.cbmm.org. For more information about Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake, visit www.gscb.org.
