Kent Narrows Sail & Power Squadron to Host D/5 Fall Festival

12th September 2012 | Posted in Community, News

The Kent Narrows Sail & Power Squadron (KNSPS) will host the “District 5 Sail Regatta, Fishing Tournament, and Fall Festival” on September 21-23 at Mears Point Marina. District 5 serves the squadrons of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, DC, eastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey, and boaters from these regions are all invited to this event, which includes a host of fun activities. All interested boaters and their families, whether you are a member of the Power Squadron or not, are invited to join us.

One of the major attractions is the Sail Regatta, but the Fishing Tournament is a close second! There will be plenty of food as well as fun events, like Dockside Crafts for the kids! There’s a Welcome Party on Friday, September 21, Breakfasts on Saturday & Sunday mornings, and the always exciting Awards Banquet on Saturday evening at the Kent Island Yacht Club.

This is a time to try your skills at sailboat racing or tournament fishing, or just enjoy visiting with everyone. Come by car or boat; Squadron members will be available to help with tying up your boats as well as providing a taxi service to local Kent Narrows restaurants you might want to try. For more information about the D/5 Fall Festival, contact Event Chair Joan Yeigh at 410-643-2106.

The Kent Narrows Sail and Power Squadron is a unit of the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) and a member of District 5 covering the Mid-Atlantic States.
