A Kent Island resident had his whole life turned upside down in late October 2011. The gentleman I speak of is Dale Brian Wagner of the Cloverfield Community. Dale went to his family doctor after not feeling his sinus infection was not going away. He informed the doctor of how he was feeling. The doctor decided to do blood work. A few hours later he received a phone call telling him to go straight to Anne Arundel Medical Center they would be expecting him. After more testing Dale was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Dale has participated in 2 clinical trials at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center from October 2011 to July 2012 with no results. The doctors at Hopkins told him that they could only give him platelets and make him comfortable until the end. Dale refused to give up the fight and he is now at MDAnderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. This is the last resort and the Anderson doctors are optimistic. Unfortunately, the treatment is on an outpatient basis (5 days in the hospital, 2 weeks off to recuperate, repeat). He has exhausted a lot of insurance limits and now has to pay out of pocket for a 24/7 caregiver, food, lodging and large copays for medicines. Additionally, he is a father of two children (In the Queen Anne’s County School System) and must maintain a home in Stevensville, MD for them to reside. His children are Zoe and Samuel Wagner ages 12 and 8. Family and friends are helping with the children. If anyone could make a donation of any amount towards Dale’s expenses please go to www.youcaring.com and type Dale Wagner to donate.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and may God Bless you all.
