We’ll once again celebrate the Kent Island Federations of Arts’ Artoberfest at Kent Island’s newest waterfront community, Gibson’s Grant on Saturday, October 20, 2012. This day long family event will feature twenty-five artists and artisans exhibiting and selling their paintings, photography, fine crafts, pottery, jewelry and more, all under the magnificent and pristine tree covered front lawn of the Manor House, the original residence on the historic property.
In 2013, the Kent Island Federation of Arts in Stevensville, an all volunteer organization, is celebrating its 50th year of bringing arts and arts education to Kent Island and the surrounding communities. KIFA relies on donations from individuals and business partners in the community. Gibson’s Grant is one such partner, offering their beautiful grounds for this great fall family festival of arts and nature.
Gibson’s Grant, is a conservation-based community with 55 acres of scenic wetlands and over 2 miles of nature trails. Gibson’s Grant offers a wealth of opportunities for fresh air, exercise and connecting with the natural world. The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) has established a program of environmental education seminars in the community, which serves as a living outdoor classroom.
The day’s activities will include the art festival, face painting, children’s activities, food and music. The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center will be presenting a nature exhibit all day long in the Manor House on the property.
Come join the fun!
