Athlete of the Week – Lindsay Galvin

2nd November 2012 | Posted in Sports

My name is Lindsay Galvin and I am a senior at Queen Anne’s County High School. I enjoy challenging myself in advanced placement math classes and have been pleasantly suprised with my success in these courses. My hobbies include clubs such as FBLA, It’s Academic, Environmental Club, and SGA. I also waitress at Higgy’s Farm Market and Country Cafe. Although I played softball my freshman year, I have found my true passion in Cheerleading. I have been a Cheerleader for the Queen Anne’s County Lions all four years of my high school career. Cheerleading is my favorite way of showing how enthusiastic I am for my school and our teams. I am so proud of the athletes at QACHS and how successful we have proved to be. I will never forget all those Friday night football games under the stadium lights- it is truly one of the greatest feelings. My parents have influenced me the most by supporting and encouraging the choices I have made throughout my life. My mother was a former Cheerleader herself and is the reason I wanted to start cheering. My father is one of the best lacrosse goalies I know and loves to see the same passion he shares for lacrosse as I do for cheerleading. I plan to go away for college to fufill all four years at a major university though I am unsure of which one yet. I am so thankful to have been nominated for this award and I thank you for your time!
