Rams Head restaurants are jumping into February head first with the release of the “Big Thaw Bock”, brewed at Old Dominion Brewing Company in Dover, Delaware. To help celebrate the release of “Big Thaw Bock”, the Rams Head is offering $4 souvenir glassware with a fill-up of the new brew and refills are $1 during the 4:00-6:00pm release on Thursday, February 2, 2012.

The Recipe for “Big Thaw Bock” was created by Brewmaster Walter Trifari of the Old Dominion Brewing Company. The final product is a 7.5% ABV. The Big Thaw Bock is a bottom- fermented golden lager that has a full-bodied mouth feel followed by a spicy citrus hop flavor and aroma. The beer will be available at a Rams Head restaurant located in Annapolis, Crownsville, Stevensville or Savage, Maryland.

The Rams Head offers patrons a chance to try a new seasonal beer the first Thursday of the month at the Rams Head. What makes a beer release so fun at the Rams Head? @Good4thePalate on twitter.com replied by saying “I like seeing local friends, supporting local business and adding to my glass collection. Plus an affordable brew!”.

“Patrons can relax and enjoy the new brew with company of their friends and other beer lovers at the Rams Head,” says Rams Head Tavern Annapolis General Manager, Corky Fertitta.” Big Thaw Bock is a perfect beer to enjoy as the chill of winter melts away a new, lush world is revealed. Come to the Rams Head and “thaw” out with us on February, 2nd.

According to the Let’s Move initiative, one in three American children is considered overweight or obese. Children also consume 31 percent more calories and 56 percent more fat than their peers did 40 years ago. Starting today, Chick-fil-A® is taking another step in continuing to address the issue of childhood obesity by debuting one of the nation’s most nutritious kid’s meals.

In recent months, many fast food chains have updated their side options in an attempt to offer healthier children’s menu items. Chick-fil-A instead is concentrating on making the entrée healthier by adding Grilled Chicken Nuggets as an alternative for children. The move marks the first time a national fast food chain has offered a grilled entrée as part of a children’s menu.

The chain also is enhancing its side choices, adding Buddy Fruits® Pure Blended Fruit To Go applesauce as a complement to the Fruit Cup option Chick-fil-A added to its menu in 2004. And, the chain is removing Hi-C from its beverage line and promoting one-percent milk, 100-percent apple juice, its signature freshly squeezed lemonade or bottled water as drink choices.

Chick-fil-A’s Grilled Nuggets, paired with the Fruit Cup and one-percent milk, is one of the most nutritious children’s meal combinations offered among any major fast food chain. The meal has only 210 calories and 3 grams of fat – reflecting an 86 percent cut in fat grams and a 56 percent calorie reduction compared with its previous offerings.

Following is more information on Chick-fil-A’s new Kid’s Meal offerings:
1.	Introduction of Grilled Nuggets: These gluten-free Grilled Nuggets are made from a boneless, skinless breast of chicken tumbled in a salt and pepper spice blend and then grilled to perfection. The four count is only 80 calories and 1 gram of fat, while the six count contains 110 calories and 1.5 grams of fat.
2.	Addition of Buddy Fruits ® Pure Blended Fruit To Go: Apple Cinnamon: Each squeezable fruit pouch is gluten free, all natural and contains 100 percent pure fruit. It is 60 calories, 0 grams of fat and equals one serving of fruit.
3.	Improved beverage options: Drinks with high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) are being removed from the beverage choices. Children’s drink choices now include one-percent milk, 100 percent apple juice and freshly squeezed lemonade (30 percent DV vitamin C).

“We are excited to now be able to offer kids on Kent Island and beyond, a more healthy option without sacrificing the taste”, Emily McAuley comments, “I think they will be popular with the moms and dads too!”

“Pairing the new nuggets with a salad or fruit cup will remove all of the unnecessary fats and also help reduce the sodium content too”.

The New R’s Americantina is proud to announce the Grand Re-opening Celebration from September 22 through 25. Months ago, the team set Fall as the goal to be ready for a new era at R’s Americantina. Here we are with Fall starting and ready to show that they achieved the goal. Did you know that there were new owners?

You probably heard the rumor that R’s was going to close in April. That was true. Many have heard that the new owners of R’s have been focused on fixing things and rebuilding bridges. The recovery has been a lot of hard work by everyone on the team and the rebuilding has required a lot of support from the community. Now it’s time for them to thank everyone who has supported them in the journey since May 2011 and to welcome others back.

There is a theme to this celebration, and to every day, really – they are a fun bunch at the new R’s Americantina and if give them a try to earn your business, you will leave with a smile on your face.

The team will be serving everyone’s favorites, like the sizzling fajitas, the avocado zamora, the cantina flats, and the guacamole and Janice Monger, the General Manager, will be mingling as she has been doing for the past four months. Emily Gray, a fourth grader at Matapeake Elementary School will be around to greet the children with balloons and to introduce you to her parents, Mark and Jodie Gray, and her grandparents, Jim and Judy Monger. The Monger-Gray family is now the owner of R’s and they could not be more proud of their team which has banded together to save the restaurant.

The celebration kicks off with something fun to do – Thursday, September 22nd at 8:00 pm with Retro Trivia featuring Denise and Terri. The Pinnacle Vodka promotional team will be at the new R’s to introduce Pinnacle Gummy vodka. No guarantees have been made by Pinnacle that the vodka will help anyone’s trivia game but they do guarantee that it will add yummy to the fun!

On Friday, September 23rd Denise and Terri will be back to lead more fun with Retro Challenge Karaoke at 8:00 pm. Our friends at G&G Distributors are sponsoring a Miller Lite Promotion. The restaurant side will be chanting “tastes great” and the cantina will respond with “less filling”!

Saturday, September 24th features a day of College football hosted by Ryan and Buck. The team has football specials planned for every Saturday and will add the prize wheel for the Thank You Celebration Weekend. Don’t miss a chance to spin! The evening features an island favorite at 9:00 pm. The music of Cuzzin Mark and Sean is always a fun time!

Sunday, September 25th rounds out the weekend with NFL Football. The DirecTV Package highlights your favorite team that may not be on a local channel. One of the new additions that has been a crowd favorite is the 120” Big Screen! Every Ravens game will be on the big screen because the new Ravens Roost #122 Kent Island meets at the new R’s Americantina. Stay for the second game against the Rams at 4:00 pm.

Drop in for lunch or dinner to congratulate the team at R’s for a job well done. Let them know that you have noticed a difference or that you are glad to be back for another try. Many of the changes have come from customer suggestions. You can also find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/RsAmericantina. The team listens and makes changes whenever possible. It really is just the beginning of a new era!

“October 3rd is a special day for the Rams Head family and we celebrate with Root Beer floats for all. Nothing can bring back the joyful memories of being a kid than the sweet refreshing taste of a Root Beer Float” says, Rams Head Vice President, Erin McNaboe

Between the smooth, creamy vanilla ice cream and the frothy, delicious Old Dominion root beer, it’s difficult to imagine a person who doesn’t love root beer floats. According to the Old Dominions website, www.olddominion.com. Our root beer grew out of original authentic American recipes found at the Library of Congress. Dominion root beer has captured an old-fashioned taste that is full-bodied, rich tasting & aromatic.
