RE: Food Blog
I have been looking at her blog every few days and have a couple of recipes I am wanting to try. And some good ideas for homemade gifts either for next Christmas or maybe for gifts throughout the year.

My mouth waters just looking at the pictures and reading her descriptions - she uses great adjectives when writing! Really makes you wish you could taste the food firsthand.

I just made the pistachio encrusted tilapia and the arugula salad With roasted beets for a dinner party for six last night. I bought all the ingredients at the local Safeway -- even the panko.

Everything was delicious and I received kudos from all the guests.

RE: Food Blog
While I love looking at her pictures and reading her comments about the food, I think what I appreciate most about Page's blog is the fact that it seems as if most of her ingredients can indeed be found at our local supermarkets, at least at Safeway. While I don't cook "gourmet" too often, many times I don't even consider a recipe because of the ingredients. Her foods are a bit more "upscale" than I am used to making for every night, but at least I can recognize the ingredients and know where to find them in the local grocery store! One of these days I might just take action on this inspiration!

I, too, did find some ideas for some neat homemade gifts. I loved spiced cider and already have a recipe that I like, but I might just give her's a try sometime.

And I have been wanting a recipe for 'buffalo chicken dip" (I don't remember what Page called it). My sister-in-law made a similar dish for our Super Bowl party last year but has not as yet given out her recipe. I don't know that Page's is exactly the same, but it sounds like it might be close! I am anxious to try that one.

RE: Food Blog
We had some friends to our house for New Years last night. It wasn't a fancy "dinner party" kind of night , but a relaxed, laugh alot, eat lots of good food kind of night. I made two of Page's recipes and they were HUGE successes.

I made the Buffalo Wing Chicken dip. DELICIOUS!!! I used ranch, as I don' t like bleu cheese. One guy mentioned that he thought he might like the dip better than actual wings because the dip wasn't messy (but I don't think he is ready to give up wings for good... sometimes you just need messy!). Many agreed they could have made a meal out of the dip.

Except that we had ALOT of other really good food.

Including Page's Maryland crab soup. MUCH better than the recipe I had been given years ago. It was a last minute addition to the menu (I had some crab meat that I was going to use today in crab cakes) and I didn't have time to run to the store for a few things, but we made the best substitutions we could with what we had. I would have rather used fresh crab meat and claws, but that wasn't an option at this time of the year. But if you like Maryland crab soup, I would definitely give Page's recipe a try. DELICIOUS!!!! I made a double batch and am looking forward to the leftovers.

I will definitely keep looking at Page's site!!
