Chesapeake Hearing Centers Helps Give the Gift of Hearing With Starkey Hearing Foundation in Mexico

(Stevensville, MD, June 2017)Tyler Raup and Amy Mayo of Chesapeake Hearing Centers recently joined Starkey Hearing Foundation on a hearing mission in Queretaro and Morelia, Mexico to help serve over 900 children and adults with hearing loss.

“We were so humbled to be able to be part of Starkey Hearing Foundation’s incredible work in Mexico,” Raup said. “Giving back to the global community is so important, and there is no better way to do so than to help provide the gift of better hearing. Hearing plays such a vital role in helping families to communicate, in education and building connections. And that’s what’s so amazing about this experience, it’s experiencing first-hand just how the gift of hearing can bring families and communities together.”

“Seeing the way people’s faces light up when the hearing aids are turned on, it changes your life,” Mayo said. “We work with patients every day in the office, but to be part of a mission, to fit hundreds who often go without hearing healthcare, it’s a one of a kind experience.”
