Crossroads Community Appoints New Board Member

Crossroads Community, Inc., (CCI) announced the appointment of Lisa Menditch to its Board of Directors.  Menditch joins President Daniel Rosendale and  nine other Board Members who lend their leadership and guidance to the organization, which provides mental health rehabilitation and case management services to residents of five counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Menditch said her interest in becoming involved with CCI stems from her employment as a community mental health clinician. However, Menditch’s mental health advocacy also comes from a very personal perspective. “One of my children has been diagnosed with a bipolar disorder,” she said. “I have seen first-hand how mental health issues affect not only our loved ones, but our families and the community at large.”
She said she believes that transformations can occur with proper treatment and support. “That is why, as a CCI Board member, I will work toward making these opportunities available to those who are confronted with mental health issues,” Menditch explained.
CCI’s programs help adults, children and adolescents focus on recovery and resiliency to live a satisfying and productive life. For adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, Crossroads provides several services including Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Residential Rehabilitation, Supported Employment, Health Home, Young  Adult Program, and Case Management.  Individuals can participate in multiple services. All adult programs share the common positive and life affirming goal to promote healthy growth and development to build strong foundations for independent living.
Crossroads’ early intervention strategies help children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disorders.  Its Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, one-on-one mentoring,  and skill building groups are available for children and adolescents.  In addition, a Respite Program is provided for families by partnering with trained licensed foster care families, giving relief  for both children and their caregivers.
Crossroads Community serves residents of Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester counties, with service locations in Centreville, Chestertown and Cambridge. Many of its services have specific eligibility criteria.
