Andy Read, President of the United Way of Queen Anne’s County, is pleased to announce a new addition to the Board of Directors. Jenny Griffin of Harris Crab House has agreed to serve.

“Jenny came highly recommended by several current United Way board members”, Andy stated. “Harris Crab House has a long history of being involved with the community! We are looking forward to getting her input and ideas for our fundraisers!”

Ms. Griffin has been a management team member at Harris Crab House for 18 years. She also volunteers with Bosom Buddies Charities and has raised funds with the Crabs for a Cure Crab Feast for 5 years. Jenny is also the Vice President of the Chesapeake Women’s Network. She has lived on the Eastern Shore for 26 years, and enjoys gardening, swimming and playing with her grandchildren.

According to the United Way Executive Director, Sandra Early, “We are currently working on our Annual Crab Feast to be held this year on September 20th at the Chesapeake Bay Environment Center in Grasonville. Harris Crab House is our connection for the best crabs the shore has to offer! So, in a way, Jenny has been a part of our team for years. To have her now fully involved has already been a bonus! She has started rounding up items to be a part of our “Pick of the Litter” auction. I love a board member who hits the ground running!”

United Way Queen Anne’s County is all about neighbors helping neighbors!  They allocate funds to 21 local non-profit agencies that serve community needs from children to seniors, covering areas from health and human services to the arts and the environment.  If you are interested in serving on the United Way Board or would like more information about upcoming events, please visit www.unitedwayqac.org or contact Sandra Early at 410-739-4716.
