Team Sun won the 12-13 year old girls youth league championship for Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation. The Sun defeated the well coached team Storm from Sudlersville in an excellent ball game that challenged both teams. The Sun from Kent Island went undefeated during the regular season.  Fundamentally sound, the Sun put defense first and played unselfishly on offense creating a total team experience. A team with no stars all seven girls worked hard all game, every game, to get the ball to their teammates. Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation recently finished the 2010 Basketball League season which saw 840 children, ages six to thirteen, playing on 97 teams countywide.
