Kent Island Federation of the Arts

Kent Island Federation of Arts (KIFA) – KIFA’s main mission is to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to better appreciate the visual arts and to develop their own creative and artistic skills. KIFA hosts exhibits as well as holding classes for children and adults, member events and various fun fundraisers.

Nicholas Sipes

Nicholas Sipes – Nicholas Sipes was diagnosed with an aggressive, very rare form of cancer when he was just 6-years-old in 2018. In order to make the trips to Johns Hopkins for treatments and to care for Nicholas at home, Monica Sipes, Nicholas’s mother, has had to take unpaid leave from her job. The diagnosis, treatments and travel have been difficult on Nicholas and his family.

Nathan's Story

Nathan’s Story Childhood Cancer Organization – Nathan Silpath was diagnosed with and began treatments for Osteosarcoma in 2010. In 2017, bone marrow biopsies identified a secondary cancer related to earlier high dose chemotherapy treatments. After 7-1/2 years of fighting cancer, Nathan passed away in 2018 at age 16. To help fund research into childhood cancers, to bring smiles to cancer-diagnosed kids, and to continue to promote awareness about childhood cancers, the Silpath family offers MD MVA approved license plates.

Crossroads Community Behavioral Health Recovery - Crossroads Community is a nonprofit organization providing behavioral health rehabilitation and case management services to residents of the five mid-shore counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The Mission of Crossroads Community, Inc. is to teach skills and to access resources that empower people with behavioral health needs to recover and live satisfying and productive lives.

Darren's Pack

Darren’s Pack – Darren Leonard was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in 2009 at just 8 weeks old. To help other families battling childhood cancer, the Leonard family began Darren’s Pack, a tool to help others learn about childhood cancer and to bring the community together to get involved in making a difference in the lives of kids fighting cancer.

Haven Ministries

Haven Ministries – HOPE is provided to those in need in Queen Anne’s County by supplying shelter, clothing, food and support. Ministries include a Homeless Shelter, Our Daily Thread Thrift Shop, Emergency Food Pantries, Resource Center, Street Outreach and a Warehouse with a job training program.

Chesapeake Bay Enviromental Center

Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) - The mission of the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center is to promote stewardship and sustainability through environmental education and habitat restoration. CBEC is a 510 acre wildlife preserve reflecting the wildlife and historic landscapes that characterize Maryland’s Eastern Shore. In addition to family activities such as birding and kayaking, CBEC offers educational programs for children and adults, summer and school’s out camps, college internships, and more.

Talisman Theraputic Riding

Talisman Therapeutic Riding (TTR) – TTR provides a unique form of healing through the use of horses and nature. Some of the programs offered include: Stable Family-to give families a chance to interact and cooperate; Hippotherapy-for adults and children under supervised instruction of therapists or pathologist; Heroes on Horses-for wounded warriors and first-responders injured in the line of duty; TheraPony-for children with cognitive and physical disabilities.

Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts

 The Queen Anne’s County Arts Council is a private, non-profit corporation founded to promote and encourage visual, performing and cultural arts in Queen Anne’s County. The arts are promoted through special events and exhibits, summer free concert series, workshops and classes for children and adults, and by offering grants and scholarships within the local community.

Compass Regional Hospice

Compass Regional Hospice – Since 1985, Compass Regional Hospice has been dedicated to supporting and helping people through the difficult and challenging time of living with a serious illness. In addition to home hospice and bereavement care programs, Compass offers Bridges, a program that provides nonmedical supportive services and encouragement for individuals who have been diagnosed with a serious illness. When care in a patient's home is not possible, our residential hospice centers serve as a comfortable, home-like, medically supportive alternative for patients who need around-the-clock care. Sweet Bay Magnolia Academy

Sweet Bay Magnolia Academy – The Sweet Bay Magnolia Academy is a student centric private school program that provides students and parents with an intensive and individualized educational experience. Some of the programs include: intensive speech therapy; occupational therapy and sensory integration; academic goals; focus on STEAM.
