The Queen Anne’s Chorale is proud to dedicate its spring concert, “Good Grief:  Music of Mourning, Comfort, and Hope”, to all Veterans, Active Duty, and Reservists who have served their country in time of conflict. Recognition of all United States military services will be made during each concert with special attention given to those who have lost their lives, more recently in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There will be 2 performances:

Saturday: April 24th at Christ Episcopal Church, 830 Romancoke Road, Kent Island,
7:30 p.m.

Sunday: April 25th at Centreville United Methodist Church, 4:00 p.m.

The Chorale will perform the beautiful Rutter Requiem, written by Englishman, John Rutter and first  introduced in concert on October 13, 1985 in Dallas, Texas. This work will be performed with chamber orchestra.  Other repertoire will also feature the powerful and uplifting How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place  from Requiem by Johannes Brahms; At The River, adapted by Aaron Copland;  Precious Lord, Take My Hand by Thomas A. Dorsey; To Everything There Is A Season by Ed Harris, and You’ll Never Walk Alone from Carousel by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein 11.  Artistic Director, Bob Huntington, carefully chose this music to offer assurance and comfort to the audience.

Also accompanying the Chorale is pianist Cynthia Bidinotto-Slate.

A short reception will be held after each performance so that Chorale members may greet the audience and personally thank them for attending.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or from a Chorale member beforehand.  They are $10.00 for adults and children through high school are admitted free.  Any member of the military, past or present, in uniform will also be given free admittance.

Both performances are handicapped accessible.
