“Shipwrecks of the Chesapeake” at the Library

On Thursday, March 25, at 6:00 p.m., in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Reference Librarian Don Bonsteel of the Enoch Pratt Library will give a talk on the “Shipwrecks of the Chesapeake.”  There is documentary evidence for more than 1,800 shipwrecks on the Chesapeake since Colonial times.  Bonsteel’s PowerPoint presentation will focus on five of the most interesting cases, including the tragedy of the Levin J. Marvel—which went down in August of 1955, taking 14 souls with her.

All library programs are free and open to the public.  Patrons do not need to pre-register for this program.  For more information, call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.
