On Wednesday, our middle school boy’s and girl’s basketball teams faced off against a tough Maces Lane Middle School. The girls started the evening off with a convincing 27-12 victory and improved their win streak to 9 games in a row. With everyone getting ample playing time, the Sabres were in control from early on in what was sometimes a physical, rough game. After sitting at 2-2 for a few minutes, the lady Sabres went to a full court press and jumped to a 10-2 lead. The game was never in question again and they backed off from there, but still continued to dominate. In spite of limited playing time, Lauren led the way with 12 points, including 2 for 4 shooting from the line. Emily and McKenna had 6pts and 4 pts, respectively, and Zeb and Carter also scored. Carter was a solid 3 for 4 from the foul line – awesome! Adele played a solid game playing both guard and forward. Enough can’t be said about this team, they are absolutely stellar on both sides of the ball. The SSPP boy’s rebounded from a 71-55 loss to Maces Lane Middle School with a solid 41-31 victory. It was another competitive and physical game for the boy’s last night who improved their season record to 7 wins and 3 losses. Brooks Zentgraf was hot all night pouring in 13 points to lead the way for the Sabres. Ben Warpinski played tough on the post to add 11 points of his own to help lead the Sabres to victory.
