40th Annual Kent Island Day

The 40th Annual Kent Island Day celebrates the history and culture of Kent Island with encampments and demonstrations of colonial life, as well as with music, dance and food. Sponsored by The Kent Island Heritage Society, Inc., there will be all-day entertainment for the entire family. This event will be held in downtown Historic Stevensville on Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A parade will immediately follow a brief opening ceremony at 10 a.m. The Heritage Society’s historic sites, including Cray House, the Train Depot, Old Post Office and Old Stevensville Bank in downtown Stevensville, will be open, as will the Kirwan Country Store Museum in Chester. Heritage Society docents in period costumes will be on hand at each site.

Food vendors, crafts people and other community groups will be a part of the day’s event. Entertainment will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Pocket Park in downtown Historic Stevensville.
