The Queen Anne’s County Department of Aging is sponsoring its 7th Annual Senior Summit and Picnic on Tuesday May 19, 2009 from 9:00am -2:00pm. The Senior Summit and Picnic will be held at the 4H Park on Rt. 18, Centreville. Admission and parking for this event are free. The Senior Summit is designed for vendors to display and advertise their merchandise and services of interest to senior citizens. The Picnic includes a delicious Pit Beef lunch with all the trimmings, ice cream, and unlimited iced tea. Tickets for the Picnic Lunch cost $11.00 and may be purchased in advance at local senior centers. Limited tickets will also be available at the 4H Park on the day of the event. Highlights throughout the day include free live entertainment, K-9 dog show, Bingo, Mini Golf, Reiki demo, Ball Room dance demo, Line Dance demo, Aerobic Exercise demo, hand massages, blood pressure checks, and hearing screening. Try your luck at the booths operated by the senior centers which include a Cake Wheel, Flower Wheel, Raffle baskets, Auction Items, games and prizes. Transportation by County Ride will be available departing from each senior center with advance reservation. In addition, a Cholesterol test or Lipid Panel will be available for a small fee and require fasting in advance.
