Kent Island Elks Lodge #2576 along with the Maryland Natural Resources Police Reserve Officers – Eastern Region are proud to present our 7th Annual Children’s Free Fishing Derby on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Terrapin Park, Stevensville, MD. Registration begins at 7:30 AM. Activities begin at 8:00 AM with all lines out of the water at 11:00 AM. The children’s fishing contest is open to all children ages 3 to 15.

The Derby is open to area families to facilitate a day of family fun for all ages. This event is designed to promote family togetherness, encourage safe practices near the water and teach children that there are safe alternatives to drugs and alcohol.

Activities and demonstrations will be on-going and prizes will be awarded at the end of the event. Lunch will be provided. Parents are welcome and encouraged to fish with their children; however, fish caught by parents will not count towards the contest. A fishing license is not required for this event.
