Maryland Transportation Authority Police are investigating the discovery of an abandoned 1998 Buick Century with Maryland registration on the west span of the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge. At about the same time, MdTA police boats and Maryland Natural Resources Police boats, along with vessels from the U.S. Coast Guard, Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department and Grasonville Volunteer Fire Department and Anne Arundel County responded to a call for a water rescue and searched the waters around the bridge. No further information was available.
