Adoptions Up On Eastern Shore

Governor Martin O’Malley and the Maryland Department of Human Resources released new figures showing that more couples are adopting children across the state. They say the numbers reflect the success of a program called Place Matters, which stresses the importance of every child having a permanent place to call home. Overall, the adoptions are up 54 from the prior year with Wicomico County showing the greatest gain with 92-percent increase in adoptions.
