Ballroom Dance Classes for Senior Adults

Ballroom Dance classes for senior adults are now forming for the summer semester at Grasonville Senior Center. This Healthy Living for Older Adults class offers a great low impact workout in a fun social setting. Ballroom Dance is a great way for Baby Boomers and active seniors to stay fit, happy and connected. This course is provided by Chesapeake College Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Training. Sessions are designed specifically for seniors to improve health through education and awareness training. Dance Instructor Anne Marie Duld will lead the group and offer individual instruction as needed on Tuesdays, July 7 – September 1, 2009 from 1:30PM – 3:30PM. No prior dance experience is necessary and beginners are encouraged to try this fun class. Participants will have fun learning the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha, Merengue, Bachata and Polka!. Singles are welcome to attend as no partner is needed and students will be paired with each other. Participants must be age 60 or better. Advance registration is required. The registration fee for the summer semester is just $10 and entitles the student to take additional classes at no extra cost. Class size is limited and classes fill up quickly.
