Ballroom dance champion Amanda Showell begins the fall season at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, MD with lessons in Beginning Tango and Level 2 Hustle.
Beginning Ballroom and Latin dance students will learn the basic steps, rhythms and techniques of each dance in four-week sessions. Intermediate students will advance their knowledge of each dance and further develop their dance style.
These popular classes are held on Wednesday evenings and begin on September 17 at 7pm for Beginning Tango and 8pm for Level 2 hustle. Learn the basics, how to lead or follow and some “flashy” steps while enjoying these popular dances. Register by September 10. The class cost is $50 or $45 for members of the QAC Arts Council. Instructor Amanda Showell has taught at some of the largest dance schools on the East coast, having coached the dance teams of both Princeton University and the University of Delaware. A teacher since 1996, Showell has won numerous ballroom dance competition titles and trained with world class dancers such as Peter Eggleton and Charlotte Jorgensen.
