Bay Bridge Redecking Resumes

Commuters traveling across the Bay Bridge can expect delays as crews resume the redecking project on the westbound span. On weekdays, two-way traffic will be in effect on the eastbound span between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Weekend closures could extend further into the morning hours. Workers will be replacing old sections of the bridge decking with new prefabricated ones. Commuters will encounter steel plates in some sections of the westbound span as the work is being completed. Police are warning drivers to obey the 45-mile-per-hour speed limit posted during the project’s duration or face double fines.
