Motorists headed home from a long Memorial Day weekend at the beach found slow going on U.S. Route 50 west approaching the Bay Bridge, where traffic usage was nearly three percent higher than first projected. MdTA says traffic was backed up about nine miles to the vicinity of Nesbit Road. There also were rolling backups on Route 50 stretching almost to Easton. The Maryland State Police Barrack at Centreville and the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office said there were no major accidents contributing to the backups.
