Cambridge Woman Convicted In Fatal Fire

A jury of seven women and five men deliberated nearly four hours before finding 44-year-old Theresa Collins guilty of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of arson and five related charges. Prosecutors accused Collins of setting the fire on January 17 at an apartment house on Willis Street that killed 47-year-old Daniel Love. Defense attorneys argued that co-defendant Milton Crate set the fire. Crate’s trial is set for July 7, but he is expected to plead guilty as an accessory after the fact. Collins will be sentenced Sept. 3.
