Shore Regional Cancer Center and The Wellness Community-Delmarva will be offering Seated Yoga as part of a continuing series of free educational programs for cancer patients and their family members. The four-week class meets on Wednesday, May 13, May 27, June 10 and June 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Shore Regional Cancer Center in Easton.
Seated Yoga will be led by Anne Pogue, LMT, MA. The class consists of gentle exercises to increase energy, strength and flexibility while also reducing stress and anxiety. Yoga has been shown to support the body’s immune system and to promote relaxation, which can be valuable coping tools for those facing a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Pam Black, LCSW-C, a social worker for Shore Regional Cancer Center, says, “We are offering these educational programs to help cancer patients and their family members learn skills that will improve their quality of life during a cancer crisis and in day-to-day living.”
Shore Regional Cancer Center is located at 509 Idlewild Avenue in Easton. Pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, call Pam Black, 410-820-6800, ext. 110.
