Ellie Altman, executive director of Adkins Arboretum (left) and F. Winfield (Win) Trice, president and chief executive officer of Centreville National Bank (right), recently met at the Arboretum in Ridgely to announce Centreville National Bank’s corporate Green Champion sponsorship of the Arboretum’s signature fundraising event, Magic in the Meadow. The Green Champion sponsorship helps to underwrite the cost of the Sept. 26 fundraising event while supporting the Arboretum’s conservation programs and outreach. “We are pleased to partner with Centreville National Bank as the lead sponsor of this annual benefit event,” commented Altman. “CNB’s support over the years has helped fund the Arboretum’s conservation and education programs for all ages.”
On Sat., Sept. 26, Magic in the Meadow guests will gather under a tent at the Arboretum as twilight falls around the 400-acre garden and nature preserve’s native meadows, woodlands, wetlands and streams. With four miles of walking paths and self-guided and docent-led tours, the Arboretum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Magic in the Meadow features food, cocktails, music, and live and silent auctions. The Delmarva Stargazers will be on hand for viewing the Arboretum’s skies through large telescopes. Proceeds benefit the adults and children served by the Arboretum’s education programs and outreach services. Tickets are $95 per person, with tables of ten available for reservations.
