“Fights marred the end of the Seafood Festival on June 28th, and officials are trying to avoid problems at the upcoming Tilghman Island Day celebration scheduled for October 18. The Talbot County Liquor Board has asked the Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Company to discuss changes that they plan to implement. According to the “”Star Democrat,”” officials say they plan to start the celebration earlier this year and are considering moving some outdoor activities indoors. They also plan to stop serving beer before the festival ends. There is a meeting scheduled for August 26th with the sheriffs department to discuss the possibility of having extra security guards on hand.”
