The world-renowned Lions Gate Trio will perform at Chesapeake Chamber Music’s Fall Interlude Concert to be held at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD. This will be the first Eastern Shore appearance by the Trio, composed of Katie Lansdale (violin), Florence Millet (piano), and Marcy Rosen (cello). Rosen’s recent addition to the Trio is cheered by her many fans on the Eastern Shore who, over the years, have become captivated by her musical virtuosity and her leadership as Artistic Co-Director of Chesapeake Chamber Music.

The Lions Gate Trio has thrilled American and European audiences since its founding at the Tanglewood Festival in 1988. The Trio performs traditional and modern repertory, as well as lesser-known masterworks. “”Intrepid”” is how one critic summed up the Trio’s ability to pursue tradition and frontier side-by-side and to”” communicate joy in music-making not only in technical brilliance but in an unbelievable playful lightness.”” For October’s concert the Trio will perform the Shostakovich Trio no. 1 in C minor, Op. 8; Ravel’s Duo for Violin and Cello; and the Brahms Trio in B major, Op. 8. Tickets are $50 per person. A wine, cheese and dessert reception will follow the concert”
