Chester Woman Calls 911 Then Ends Up In Jail

A Chester woman who called police to report a domestic argument with her sister ended up being arrested herself. Maryland State Police responded to a call from Lisa M. Birchfield, 21, of Skipper Lane saying she was involved in a verbal altercation with Crystal L. Birchfield, 24, of the same address. When troopers arrived, they determined Lisa Birchfield allegedly was the aggressor, said Trooper E. Pertain. He said she was “”heavily intoxicated”” and had allegedly punched Crystal Birchfield, who managed to restrain her until police arrived.

As Trooper M. Gannon tried to detain Lisa Birchfield, she allegedly punched and kicked him. She repeatedly slammed her head into her truck before being restrained, Pertain said. Once Lisa Birchfield was placed in Gannon’s car, she continued to resist, kicking out the front windshield. She was transferred to another police car, reportedly spitting on two other police officers who were assisting in the process. According to the police report, a subsequent search of her belongings “”revealed a gray baggie containing over 20 grams of suspected cocaine and marijuana.”” The suspected drugs were sent to a lab for testing to confirm they are controlled dangerous substances.

Lisa Birchfield was charged with four counts of second-degree assault, three counts of resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, malicious destruction of property and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute. After processing at the Centreville barracks, she was held at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center in Centreville.
