The Fourth of July fireworks show is returning to the Chestertown riverfront site after 16 years. Developer Roy Kirby reportedly has given Chestertown permission to shoot fireworks from the old Alger oil facility he owns near the Town Pavilion. Chestertown is getting approval forms to the state fire marshal, DNR and the Coast Guard. Shooting fireworks from the river will allow residents to see the fireworks from an easy vantage point, and also will save the town about $13,000 a year.
