Chestertown will receive 26 government officials from the Chinese city of Suzhou and surrounding areas as visitors to the city. They are spending a year at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, earning masters degrees in public policy management. As part of their studies, they are taking several trips to study national, state and local governments. April 15 was Chestertown’s turn. Suzhou, with more than five million inhabitants, is much larger than Chestertown, but its officials are eager to learn how our government works.
