Colonial Tea Parties

Historical Society of Talbot County will offer Colonial Tea Parties this summer. Party guests will enjoy colonial-era afternoon refreshments and tea prepared over an open hearth fire in the replica colonial home on the museum property. Food will include “flummery,” a favorite of Felicity, heroine of the American Girl book series, and “Shrewsbury Cakes,” cookies made with currants.

Saturday May 30 will be a girls’ day out at the Mother or Grandmother/Daughter Tea Party. Dolls are invited to attend, also.

On Saturday, June 20 families can celebrate Father’s day a little early at the Father or Grandfather/Daughter Tea Party. Dads, grandfathers, and uncles are all invited to bring the girl they adore, no matter how old she is.

Both parties will begin at 2 pm and cost $20 per person, or $15 for HSTC members (dolls are free). Pre-registration is required. For more information, or to register, contact Beth Hansen at 410-253-0214 or curator@hstc.org
