United States Congressman Frank Kratovil (MD-01) visited The Memorial Hospital at Easton on Friday, February 20 to meet with leadership of Shore Health System and University of Maryland Medical System. The visit gave the Congressman an opportunity to speak with healthcare leaders and providers about the issues affecting them in their hospitals and outpatient services.
“This session in Congress, we will be dealing with some of the most critical health care concerns facing our nation,” said Congressman Kratovil. “I am going to be taking votes in Congress that will affect how health care in this country and our region is administered; but before that, I want to use opportunities such as this one to visit the men and women on the front lines.”
During his visit, Congressman Kratovil toured the Requard Center for Rehabilitation and the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate. In both units, he met physicians, nurses and patients and heard what they had to say about health care and what they believe can be done to improve the system in the United States. Kratovil said, “I will take their thoughts and input back to Washington to include them in the national debate about health care.”
