Cook Joins Shore Health System

Jonathan Cook recently joined Shore Health System as vice president for physician services. In this role, he is responsible for the financial and operations management of the primary care and specialty physician practices owned by Shore Health System.

A resident of Ocean Pines, Maryland, Cook has over 20 years experience in the healthcare field. Prior to joining Shore Health System, he was vice president of practice administration for Atlantic General in Berlin, Maryland, where he was responsible for the strategic design and operation of a multi-specialty, hospital-affiliated, physician network that provided services in surgery, women’s health, primary care and urgent care as well as the hospitalist program. Cook’s professional experience also includes management roles at hospitals and other healthcare organizations in New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Cook holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Long Island University in Greenvale, New York. He earned a masters of business administration in healthcare administration from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.

Cook is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, the Maryland Medical Group Management Association and the Maryland Hospital Association. He was elected to the Worcester County Board of Education and is serving his second term. He sits on the board of directors of the Autistic Children’s Support Group of Worcester County and has been an active member of the Worcester County Minority Achievement Committee “Close the Gap.”
