Cop Faces Charges In Kent Island Crash

An Annapolis police officer is facing charges in connection with a crash on Kent Island last week that seriously injured a Stevensville teen. Officer Jon Hipsky was heading west on Route 50 when he failed to stop for traffic that was halted at Duke Street for a Bay Bridge closing. He crashed into the teen’s vehicle, which then struck the car ahead. The injured teen was flown to Shock-Trauma for treatment. Twenty-five-year-old Hipsky, who was off-duty at the time of the accident, faces a number of traffic-related charges, including negligent driving.
