DGH Foundation Accepts Donation from Auxiliary

The Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary recently made a $10,000 donation to the Dorchester General Hospital Foundation. This generous gift was made in response to the Foundation’s 2007 annual appeal, which raised funds to benefit the Balance Center, which is located at Dorchester General Hospital.

Shore Health System operates the Eastern Shore’s only Balance Center, where patients are evaluated and treated for balance disturbances. Funds raised by the Dorchester General Hospital Foundation will offset the $100,000 cost of the SMART EquiTest® system. The state of the art technology is used by specially trained physical therapists to provide more accurate and comprehensive evaluations and therapy for individuals experiencing balance disorders related to medical conditions, such as stroke, vertigo, inner ear problems and chronic dizziness.
