DGH Presents Gift for Emergency Department Building Project

Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary Treasurer Richard Hargis presented a check for $25,000 to Gerard Walsh, Chief Operating Officer for Shore Health System. The Auxiliary’s gift is the second installment of a $50,000 pledge for a construction project underway to expand and renovate the hospital’s Emergency Department. When construction is completed later this year, the Dorchester General Hospital ED will have five additional patient treatment areas, for a total of 16, two private triage rooms, and more expansive nursing and physician work spaces. At the check presentation were also Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary volunteer Debbie Thomas; Auxiliary President Diane McCarthy; and Cathy Weber, BSN, RN, CEN, Manager of Emergency Services for Dorchester General Hospital.
