The Upper Shore Delegation is inviting Governor O’Malley to tour the Upper Shore Community Mental Health Center in hopes a first-hand look will get him to keep the facility open. State Senator EJ Pipkin, Kent Delegate Mary Roe Walkup and others wrote a letter to O’Malley last week asking him to visit as soon as possible. Due to budget cuts, USCMHC is due to stop taking patients next month and close for good in March.
