Norman Carter, a 25-year-old Denton man, pleaded guilty to charges from an incident in which he was accused of breaking into several apartments and assaulting an officer. Carter pleaded guilty in Talbot County District Court to second-degree assault, resisting arrest and possession of cocaine. Carter’s attorney says her client did not recall most of the details of the August 2007 incident. An officer responding to a report of an unwanted man in an apartment started to arrest Carter, but police say Carter assaulted the officer and fled. A woman approached officers and said Carter was in her apartment, where several officers were able to take Carter into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for March 30.
