Diamond Jim Fishing Challenge Underway

The Diamond Jim portion of the 2008 Maryland Fishing Challenge is underway. DNR officials released specially tagged striped bass into the Chesapeake Bay. Anglers have until midnight on June 30th to catch one of the 20 imposters or the genuine Diamond Jim. The angler who reels in the Diamond Jim will be rewarded with $10,000 cash and a $5,000 diamond from Smyth Jewelers. Fishermen catching the imposters will receive a $500 Boater’s World gift card. The 2008 Maryland Fishing Challenge began April 12th and will run through Labor Day. To find out more, visit www.dnr.state.md.us.
