Diamond Jim Released

“Maryland wildlife officials released a third batch of specially tagged rockfish into the Chesapeake Bay, including “”Diamond Jim,”” a fish worth $30,000 if caught. If “”Diamond Jim”” is caught by midnight August 31, the lucky angler will receive $25,000 cash courtesy of Boater’s World and a $5,000 diamond from Smyth Jewelers. Anyone catching the 20 other tagged rockfish will receive a $500 Boater’s World gift certificate.

The fish were released at spots across the state. The release is the third so far this year. The first two specially tagged “”Diamond Jim”” have not been caught. The “”Diamond Jim”” program is designed to promote recreational fishing in Maryland and to inspire environmental stewardship.
