Digital SLR Photo Class

Even if you actually did take the time to read the manual on your digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera, you probably still have questions. Experienced instructor Don Dement will take student photographers’ questions and turn them into answers on technique, camera characteristics, settings, features and operation, lens selection, auto-focusing, exposure control, the histogram, filters, WB selections, mode decisions (PASM and RAW/JPG), storage and file organizing software, support equipment and special requirements. Interactive discussions and problem solving methods are an important component to this class in addition to hand-outs and hands-on demonstrations.

Basic familiarity of your camera, photography and personal computers will be helpful. Students should bring their camera and its manual. This two-day workshop will be held at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, MD from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 4 and 11. The deadline for registration is Januray23. Fees for this class are $140 for Arts Council Members and $160 for non-members.
