Easton High School SkillsUSA Organization recently held their year-end meeting to honor senior members and inducted new officers for the next school year under the supervision of drafting teacher, Mrs. Janis Baird. SkillsUSA is an applied method of instruction for preparing America ’s high performance workers in public career and technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work: high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free-enterprise system and involvement in community service.
Senior members presented flowers to their parents for their support. Each senior received a red SkillsUSA sash to wear at graduation. Mrs. Baird received three dozen pink roses and gold earrings from the senior members for her dedication to the organization. The meeting ended with a meal provided by parents and the Chef Class at EHS. The organization is currently raising funds to send two representatives to the SkillsUSA National Conference in St. Louis this month. If you would like more information on how you can support Easton High School SkillsUSA, please contact Mrs. Baird at EHS at 410-822-4180.
