Easton Police responded to Memorial Hospital at Easton for a reported rape. According to charging papers, the woman told police that 23-year-old Martin Eric Eason raped her, and police placed him under arrest. According to charging papers, the woman told police that she and Eason had an argument at her home during which he showed her a case with a shotgun and allegedly threatened to kill himself before fleeing. Early Saturday morning, the woman told police she was awakened by a noise in the hallway, and Eason entered her bedroom, first crying and then angry about their earlier argument. According to charging papers, he would not leave when she asked, and he pinned her down on the bed and raped her after she told him she did not want to have sex. The woman said she told two of her friends what happened. While they were standing in the hallway, Eason returned through the locked door. One friend left down the stairs with the woman, and Eason allegedly cornered the other friend, which is when Easton Police were called.
According to charging papers, Eason told police he asked the woman to have sex and that she consented. Police said her injuries, however, were consistent with rape. Eason is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree assault, third-degree burglary and two counts of false imprisonment. He was taken before a Talbot County District Court commissioner and held on $150,000 bond. Following a bail review hearing, Eason was released on $100,000 bond with the condition that he have no contact with the woman and that he should stay away from her home. The woman filed for a court order against Eason, which was granted.
