Environmentalists Encourage Less Development to Improve Bay Cleanup

Several Shore-based environmental groups say a number of proposed developments could seriously harm the Chesapeake Bay, including the proposed Four Seasons resort on Kent Island. The groups, which include the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, just released a report claiming the current Critical Area Act is inadequate and not well-enforced. Lawmakers are considering a makeover of the package and an upgrade of the 1970’s maps of the Bay area.
